It seems like just a few years ago there was much excitement world over about the new century and new millennium. And just like that, a quarter of a century has gone by. In this time we have seen so much change that seemed unfathomable at the time. We are able to connect to people over the world like never before. The years of Covid lockdowns proved just how valuable those were.
For a while now, I step in to the new year, not with resolutions for the year ahead but with gratitude for the year that is past. It is so easy to find what has gone wrong, but to see and appreciate what has gone right, is a lot harder. The people who stuck by your side through it all are your people. 2024 saw me taking part in an unbelievable 17 blog hops/pattern sales. These were hosted by talented designers who invested a lot of time and effort to set them up. These events bring designers from across the globe together, encouraging and supporting each other to present our patterns to the craft world. I can't tell you how grateful I am to all of them. So it makes sense to start 2025 with another great pattern sale!
The 2025 New Year $2 Sale runs from the 12th to the 23rd of January 2025 and gives you a chance to buy these beautiful patterns at just $2 each. Twelve of us global designers have come together again with a one time offer on our selected patterns. All the patterns are new and never been presented before. They are available at this price for the entire duration of the event. Take a detailed look at all the patterns below and you will also find the link to the other designers pages. As is expected of us designers, we need to have our patterns ready to go at least a month before the events start. As much as I planned for everything, things went awry. We had a wedding in the family in December and that took up a large part of my time. I knew I wanted to my pattern to be simple yet elegant, but just could not find the time to work on it. As is wont to happen with me, in a fit of creativity I sat down late one night, working the design. With surprising speed I had my doily ready, blocked, photographed and pattern written out, by the next morning.
My featured pattern is the Solah Doily. Solah means sixteen in many Indian Languages and I felt it was perfect for this 16 pointed doily. The great part with this design is that it can be made using any yarn. So the final pattern could be used as a motif, tree decoration, coaster, doily, added to a dream catcher or even as a floor mat. The pattern uses a combination of simple stitches. Click on the picture for the link to the pattern. Don't forget to collect the code from the end of the post.
