SPRING SPLASH- THE TULAA SCARF!

It's been a while, but as they say 'life happens'. On a personal front definitely a lot has been happening, which has left me little or no time to design patterns. My crochet time also curtailed. But, thanks to events like the Spring Splash, I am pushed into putting on my thinking cap and needle my hands to work.
While most of the world is celebrating spring, where I live, is already into the throes of summer. That makes it difficult to work on warm projects, and how the Tulaa Scarf came to be - a light weight skinny scarf that can be wrapped around the neck an extra round for greater warmth or just worn as it is.
The name Tulaa came from many inspirations - one being the combining of the words Tunisian Lace. The other comes from the Sanskrit word Tula (तुला), which means balance and harmony, as well as is a reference to the Libran zodiac sign of weighing scales. These fit beautifully with the scarf, emphasising balance between lace and simple stitch, and the harmony between seasons. Doesn't hurt that it also represents my Zodiac sign!
This scarf has a simple repeat and my testers had no problem with working the pattern. I got feedback that they found it quick to work and some of them were all set to make another piece. They said the pattern is 'breezy' in more ways than one - a fast make and beautiful lace. The best kind of feedback for a designer.

The Tulaa Scarf along with 12 other patterns will be available at 50% off during The Spring Splash FB Hop. The event runs from the 1st to the 14th of April 2026 and offers you patterns from 8 different designers. The patterns are for sale on Ravelry and all you need is a code to be avail of the discount. My featured pattern is the Tulaa Scarf. The sample pattern uses a #3 (DK) yarn - Vardhman Cool Knit, a polyester-viscose blend. The scarf could potentially be made with any yarn, ensuring you use an appropriate hook. A Tunisian hook is preferred but a crochet hook with a long neck and no handle, also works. The hook needs to be at least 2mm larger than what would normally be used for the yarn. Use one or more colours to make the finished piece as unique as you. The significance of Tulaa is apt. And the Tunisian lace is so good. Glad you are doing this now. Very very pretty.
Lovely to read about the meaning of the scarf!! It's truly beautiful and such a pleasure to work with. Plus you don't need a Tunisian hook, I made mine with a regular hook!!
